PRIVATE VIEW: FRIDAY 5th MAY, 7PM
Cesca Dvorak presents an installation of clothing, masks and ritual implements, created for an imagined community. Among its characters are those who heal, amuse, and who give spiritual guidance. Their attire has been constructed through a slow and intuitive process - screen printed, painted, dyed and sewn by hand.
The project came from a desire to create new interpretations of ceremonial dress, a fascination with shamanic regalia and an enchantment with nature.
The opening of Dewy Guises will feature live performances set to an original soundtrack composed in collaboration with Ed DMX.
Cesca Dvorak is a costume and textile designer from London. In 2008 she graduated with a BA in costume design at Wimbledon College of Art. She has since worked designing costumes for films, music videos, and dance and opera. More recently she has developed her own printed and painted textiles.
